Summer dreaming

I’m watching the sun rise over patches of snow on this chilly late November morning.

A good time to reflect on this past summer’s adventures and dream about the ones to come.

Our little Wild Horse Outreach & Advocacy (WHOA) Ambassador Mustang herd did so well in the backcountry this year.

Tay Martin went on her first two pack trips and somehow didn’t get moosed to death on her many pursuits of the tall, grumpy, long-faced ungulates.

I learned a lot and am excited to bring more young Mustangs into the backcountry next year. It’s a bit like going full circle for them.

While I plan on leaving long workshops and guided pack trips to the pro at Colorado Pack Company LLC (highly recommend if you’re ready for a full immersive experience and meeting the cutest mules), I want to demystify packing and help keep the tradition alive for those that are interested and not sure yet how to start.

We’ll do that through videos and one or two day workshops that’ll give you plenty to work with to get started and take the next steps.

I do start my own colts and I’m not about the excitement that can come with that.

Pony, pack and ground drive is my not at all secret sauce for getting a new Mustang to the point where me stepping up and taking the reins is the most uneventful next step ever.

Why not discover some incredible country along the way?

Thank you all for following along!
