Chaos is the first red, white and blue Mustang we’ve gentled at Wild Horse Outreach & Advocacy . Not kidding, look closely.
This beautiful 6yo sorrel rabicano Mustang mare with one partially blue eye is celebrating 4th of July with her very own family. She was adopted back in June and went home early this week.
Chaos is one of the friendliest, most confident horses we’ve ever had. If there’s ever been a Mustang I believe I could literally sit underneath and drink coffee, and live to tell the tale, it’s her.
Yet because she’s “only” a sorrel and “only” a bit over 14.2hh tall, she had 8 strikes when we picked her up and waited months longer than Mustangs “with color” to find a home.
What matters is she found a great one in the end: An animal loving, responsible family that’s new-ish to horses, with a horse-crazy young lady and a supportive mom looking for a laid back future trail riding partner.
Thank you Tay Martin for insisting we bring Chaos back with us when the Cañon City holding facility was about to close and we didn’t need any more horses but decided to bring back as many as we could anyway before the remaining ones would get shipped out of state.
It’s been a wild ride but so worth it when we see the joy and growth these once wild horses bring to their new homes, while being so loved and happy themselves.
