Nemo, our sweet, kind, sometimes goofy 3yo Stewart Creek WY Mustang gelding with crazy hair, all the colors and a blue eye, went home yesterday.
As you can see, he was very much a Mudstang yesterday. It’s mud season on the mountain and entirely too cold for baths.
Nemo got not only one human (a veteran), a but two who will support each other through his continued training.
The boy is going to get plenty of attention and love and we’re so excited that he’ll be staying fairly close so that hopefully we’ll see him again, maybe even do a mountain ride with him, his humans and their other Mustang one day.
Nemo was with us at Wild Horse Outreach & Advocacy since spring. Over time he settled so nicely and became one of our friendliest, easiest to work with wildies.
Every intern, kid and guest at some point worked with Nemo. He’s a sweet boy who needs a little extra guidance when he gets nervous to contain the happy feet and look to the human for support.
He was almost adopted several times. We couldn’t believe he was still with us, until these two met him. He was still here so he could find them, and it’s such a lovely match.
Thank you to all of you who support and enable our nonprofit organization to keep and work with these wildies until they find their person and the timing is right for the adoption to take place.
We take the responsibility to set the Mustangs we gentle and their adopters up for success seriously. Without you all, we wouldn’t be able to do this, so again, thank you!
Willie, thank you for your service and enjoy your colorful boy! Or just embrace you’ve lost him to Katie and take on the Appystang instead
